Privacy
The short version: if you give the Old Fox your email address, he uses it to tell you about new stories, and for nothing else.
What we collect
When you sign up for new-story emails we keep:
- your email address;
- the page you signed up on (for example the homepage);
- the country your request came from, as reported by our web host's servers (country only, not your address or IP);
- the date and time you signed up.
That's all. The website doesn't use advertising trackers or set cookies of its own. Videos are embedded from YouTube's privacy-enhanced (youtube-nocookie.com) player, and YouTube's own terms apply once you play one. Our fonts come from Google Fonts, so Google sees an ordinary web request when a page loads.
Why
To send you an occasional email when new stories are out. We rely on your consent, which you give by signing up and can withdraw at any time.
Where it's kept
Sign-ups are stored with Cloudflare, the company that hosts this website. Cloudflare may process data outside the UK and EU; where it does, it uses the safeguards UK and EU data protection law requires, such as standard contractual clauses. We never sell, rent or share your address with anyone else, and we don't use it for advertising.
We keep your address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
Unsubscribe or delete your details
Every email includes a way to unsubscribe. Or just email [email protected] from the address you signed up with and we'll remove it. You can also ask to see what we hold about you, or to correct it.

Questions about privacy: [email protected]. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), though we'd like the chance to put it right first.
